The HOT*SHOT is used by many different Law Enforcement agencies within the States, Federal, and Foreign Governments. It has proven to be an extremely valuable tool to help verify the shot metal in a shotgun shell. Its success is based on Game Officers "word of mouth".
The HOT*SHOT device should only be used as a tool to aid and augment existing practices in verifying the shot metal in a shot gun shell. We cannot recommend that the HOT*SHOT be relied on solely for determining the contents of a shell - this includes issuing citations and/or arrests based on the readings it produces. Should the results of the HOT*SHOT be questioned or challenged by any individual, we recommend that the shell be sent to a forensic lab for further analysis and verification. These facilities have very expensive equipment that can verify the findings of the HOT*SHOT.
The HOT*SHOT has been extensively tested by Stream Systems and its accuracy verified by many different Government agencies. This alone does not guarantee that every shell ever manufactured or to be manufactured will read correctly. Therefore you agree by purchasing the HOT*SHOT that: NO REFUNDS, RETURNS, OR LEGAL ACTION WILL BE TAKEN AGAINST STREAM SYSTEMS BASED ON THE UNIT PRODUCING FALSE READINGS REGARDLESS OF THE CIRCUMSTANCES.
• The HOT*SHOT is warranted from defects in workmanship and material for 90 days from date of purchase.
• The unit is a sensitive piece of electronic equipment and should be treated as such. Damage due to Abuse, Accidents, Water, Heat, or other conditions deemed by Steam Systems to be acts of negligence are not warranted.
• It is known that the HOT*SHOT will produce false readings for the following shot types, others may exist but are not known.:

By purchasing this unit you agree and understand the limitations regarding this device. You also agree to hold Stream Systems harmless with any legal action arising from the use of this device . This includes but is not limited to inserting a shell into the HOT*SHOT with the primer side first and apply enough pressure that could cause a shell to discharge.
Stream System shall not be held responsible or liable for any false readings this device regardless of the circumstances. Stream Systems also will not be held liable or accountable for any legal action surrounding arrests, seizures of equipment, personal injury, or property damage in conjunction with using this device .
Since this device should not be relied on solely for determining the contents of a shell or used to issue arrests or citations, you also agree that you will not summons Stream Systems or any associates to testify to the accuracy of the device in any capacity.
